La junta de la Comisión Electoral de Irak ha presentado este martes su dimisión en bloque para protestar por las supuestas injerencias políticas, a poco más de un mes de que se celebren los comicios parlamentarios y en un momento de extrema violencia en el país por los constantes atentados.

Le président du parti Nidaa Tounes, Beji Caid Essebsi a déclaré lors d'une interview diffusée sur la chaine Nessama TV, qu'il ne faut pas confondre le mouvement Ennahdha et les Frères Musulmans en Égypte même si certaines rumeurs disent que Rached Ghannouchi est candidat à la présidence de l'organisation internationale des frères musulmans. 

Il a ajouté que le mouvement Ennahdha est un parti tunisien comme en témoigne sa décision de rejoindre le dialogue nationale et de céder le pouvoir en vue de favoriser le consensus national. 

KARACHI: Supporters and activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) converged at MA Jinnah Road in Karachi for the Freedom March on Sunday. The party managed to attract a respectable crowd, despite the recent killings of two of its leaders and the threats of possible attacks at the rally.

“Is it a sin to love your motherland? Have we ever adopted the path of violence?” questioned the party’s chairperson Sunan Qureshi while addressing the rally. He alleged that his uncle, Maqsood, and another party leader, Wadho, were killed by ‘hidden hands’.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Monday voiced concern over government servants’ participation in the election campaign, saying necessary materials could not be transported to some restive areas.

Addressing a seminar on the role of religious scholars and tribal elders in the election process, IEC Secretary Ziaul Haq Amarkhel said preparations were in place to hold the vote on schedule.

The Sudanese opposition Popular Congress Party (PCP) has held the government and the University of Khartoum (UofK) administration responsible for the death of Ali Abakaer Moussa Idris earlier this month.

Idris, a third-year economics student, died in hospital of gunshot wounds sustained during a demonstration which took place at the UofK on March 11th.

The PCP mentioned that the criminal report stated that Idris was shot by a Kalashnikov rifle from from a distance of 18 yards, stressing that the PCP demands retribution and rejects impunity.

"A new coalition, most likely, will remain in the same format: SDPK, Ata-Meken, Ar-Namys," the leader of parliamentary socialists Omurbek Tekebayev stated to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the only thing left is to speak with the head of Ar-Namys parliamentary faction Felix Kulov.
