TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Anis Matta, said that the three presidential candidates of the party which were elected through the party's presidential convention known as Pemilu Raya, are currently familiarizing their vision, mission and ideas to a number of regions.
"We are going around several regions to disseminate [the vision and mission]." said Anis, who also becomes one of the three candidates, on Saturday, March 1. Besides Anis, the two other candidates are the current Chairman of PKS Fraction in the House of Representatives, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and the Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan.
According to Anis, the party's Shura Council will choose one of the three candidates to as the party's main presidential candidate. "If God willing, we will decide [the candidate] after the month of April," said Anis, adding that many factors will be taken into considerations to pick the sole candidate, one of which is the survey and votes garnered in the legislative election. "The constellation in the coalition should also be taken into consideration," said Anis.
