Jakarta. The National Democratic (Nasdem) Party held its national meeting on Tuesday to outline its campaign strategy in support of Joko Widodo’s presidential bid.
“We will try our best with body and mind to ensure a win for Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla in the upcoming election,” Nasdem Party chairman Surya Paloh said on Tuesday. “The election is only 43 days away.”
Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla were due to make an appearance at the meeting. Joining them were Indonesian Democratic Party (PDIP) chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri, National Awakening Party (PKB) chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) chairman Wiranto, and Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI) chairman Sutiyoso.
PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar pledged that he would rally his party base to contribute around 12 million votes for Joko and Kalla in the upcoming election.
“There will be at least 12 million votes for Joko-JK from the PKB base,” he said.
