Jakarta. Both presidential candidates and their running mates will file their net worth reports this week for audit by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa were scheduled to appear on Wednesday, with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) candidate Joko Widodo and his running mate JusufKalla scheduled for the day after.

“[We're] inviting the candidates [to the KPK headquarters],” commission spokesman Johan Budi said on Tuesday.

The commission said it would make the candidates’ wealth public by July 1 in a joint announcement with the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Under a 2008 election law, all presidential candidates are required to submit to KPK auditing.

The KPK said it was working with Financial Transaction Report and Analysis Center (PPATK) to complete the audits.

Both Joko and Prabowo have amassed significant personal wealth through careers in business, but Prabowo’s vast net worth overshadows his opponent’s by orders of magnitude: Joko had over $1 million in assets, the Jakarta Globe reported in 2012, during the candidates bid for the Jakarta governorship, but a 2009 KPK audit revealed that Prabowo had Rp 1.7 trillion ($165 million at the time) in assets, including a stable of some 90 horses.
