Two new election tickets emerge ahead of official candidacy period
Two new political groups announced their nominees for the national ticket on Thursday, two days ahead of the start of the official period to file candidacy applications for the January 23 parliamentary polls.
The “Nation List”, which will be a nucleus of a new political party, announced on Thursday its 27 candidates on the national level, headed by former deputy Lower House speaker Atef Tarawneh.
The new group is expected to announce its full programme next week, according to Tarawneh.
Bosnia Urged To Put April Census on Hold
The external body monitoring Bosnia's 2013 census has advised the authorities to postpone the headcount planned for April on the grounds that the country is insufficiently prepared.
Andy McGuffie, of the EU delegation to Bosnia, told Balkan Insight on Wednesday that the International Monitoring Operation, IMO, which oversaw this year's test census, does not believe Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready.

Leftists and pan-Arab parties agreed to run for the January 23 parliamentary elections under one national list, a leftist leader said on Wednesday.
“We will form the necessary coalitions with candidates at the national level, particularly those who adopt programmes similar to ours, but we will not have our own candidates to run in the local districts,” Abla Abu Olbeh, secretary general of the Jordanian Democratic People’s Party (Hashed), said.

The resignation of Public Prosecutor Talaat Ibrahim Abdallah on Monday follows a furore among members of the judiciary who said Morsi's decision in November to sack the former public prosecutor and appoint Abdallah was an assault on the independence of the judiciary.

Salafist El-Nour Party spokesman blames liberal forces, media and dissolved NDP for constitution fears
Yousry Hammad, official spokesman of the Salafist El-Nour Party, accused Sunday via his Facebook page the media and dissolved National Democratic Party of using all means to stop the forward momentum of Egypt.
The official Salafist spokesman said "it is no surprise that people were misled by liberal forces as the law does not stop them." He further accused liberals of "promoting lies" and "underestimating the minds of the citizens."

Islamist protesters deny head of High Constitutional Court entry to premises
Hundreds of Islamist protesters gathered outside the High Constitutional Court (HCC) have prevented the head of the court, Judge Maher El-Beheiry, from entering the premises Sunday afternoon.
El-Beheiry contacted the police to report the incident but was still unable to enter the court.

DAP wants more seats in next polls
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party is seeking three more parliamentary and 10 extra state seats in Penisular Malaysia for the next general election.
Lim said Pakatan Rakyat partners PKR and PAS should agree to this if they recognised DAP's loyalty to the Opposition coalition.
Ahmadinejad to visit Turkey amid tension
