On Monday, the Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) began broadcasting complaint cases of frauds and violations that took place in the western and southern provinces of Farah, Ghor, Kandahar, Badghis, Orozgan, Helmand and Herat provinces.
During the press conference, the ECC officials showed video footages of frauds taking place exposing a number of powerful figures, such as school principles and Independent Election Commission (IEC) employees, committing fraudulent acts.
“The complaints of the western and southern provinces were in category A and B," ECC Chairman, Abdul Satar Saadat said. "We investigated mostly all of the complaints, except Herat complaints; the exact number of complaints is not yet identified.”
Abdullah Abdullah, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Zalmai Rassoul also registered complaints. They each filed complaints against each other, but the ECC states that their complaints are invalid because evidence was not provided.
The public sharing of investigation of complaints will continue until next week. Final results of the investigation are to be sent to the IEC on Sunday.
