The results of the provincial council elections have still not been announced despite a four-month delay in the announcement.
Candidates, who have continuously criticized the dragging delay, are starting to lose hope about the likelihood of an announcement any time soon.
"We ask the election commissions to announce the final results as soon as possible so that people's concerns come to end," one of the candidates Rahimullah Mujahid said.
Head of the Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) Naeem Ayoubzada has stated that the reasons for the delay are "the weak management and lack of coordination between the election commissions."
Meanwhile, Kabul residents are disappointed by the delay and ask the government for reforms in the election management bodies.
"Both elections commissions should be put on trail," Kabul resident Ali Hassan said.
Another resident Hazrat Ali added that "considering the high salaries received by election commissions, they should announce the results as soon possible."
The provincial council elections took place seven months ago, simultaneous to the presidential elections. Earlier, experts had asserted that the presidential election deadlock had impacted developments in the provincial council elections too.
