Jahara implied that the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) are only targetting Bumiputera traders after MPPP demolished two Malay food stalls that have been operating for over 20 years.

She said according to a written reply by state Local Government chairman Chow Kon Yeow, the council only issued a compound per year to the four Chinese seafood restaurants in Butterworth even though these eateries were built on a state land without permission.

Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N Rayer and Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Boon Poh demanded the veteran politican to retract her statements, branding it as racist.
