GEORGE TOWN: DAP will announce its candidate for the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary by-election on Saturday, with Ramkarpal Singh (pix), third son of the late Karpal Singh, among those shortlisted.
State DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow said the announcement would be made at noon after the launching of the party’s by-elections operations centre in Island Park, Jalan Masjid Negeri.
Penang DAP reportedly submitted names of five candidates to the party’s central executive committee.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Karpal in an accident on April 17. The Election Commission fixed May 12 for nomination and polling on May 25.
