The accountability and justice confirmed body that the decision to call for more than 600 candidates does not mean including them in its legal procedures and exclude them from running in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"The Commission sent the names of the candidates to the security authorities with regard to criminal restrictions, and to the accountability and justice to ensure they are not included in its procedures" the member of the body, Fares al-Baku said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), referring to the presence of current deputies to the accountability and justice, pending the appropriate decision on their nomination. "

He added that "the decisions related to calling candidates for the elections of the Council of Representatives, either not to include the candidate in the procedures of accountability and justice and the nomination will go automatically, or the candidate included in the procedures where a notice of the commission would be sent to exclude them," noting "in the case of similar names of candidates with other names with legal and criminal indications ,it will be referred to a competent committee for investigation.
