Ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Alihas been sentenced on Tuesday, inabsentia, to life imprisonment inthe case of revolution martyr Omar Haddad (Sfax) and NéjibKhecharm and Makrem Bouassida, injured in Sfax and Kerkennah.
As to former Interior Minister Rafik Belhaj Kacem, he was handeda 10 year-jail sentence.
The verdict was returned early Tuesday morning by the Military courtof Sfax.
Former Head of the Presidential security Ali Seriati andLieutenant colonel Badreddine Khechana and lieutenant colonelMaher Fekih as well as lance sergeant Hassen Nouai weredischarged.
The court also decided to grant compensations to thefamilies of martyr Omar Hadded and the two woundedNejib Khecharem and Makrem Bouassida. Charges of first-degree murder and murder attempt have beenretained against the first five defendants, while Hassen Nouaiwas accused of murder attempt.
