Manama, Feb 2 (BNA) – Chairperson of the Social, Educational, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, Dr. Nawal Al-Faouri, today chaired the joint meeting of the Sub-Committee charged with the preparation for the Arab Youth Conference and the Sub-Committee charged with the preparation for Arab Women Conference of the Arab Parliament.
The meeting discussed the progress made in the workshop that was held in Oman in February 2014 on the cultural, educational and media rights, in the framework of the preparation for the Arab Women Conference, which seeks to formulate an Arab document on Arab women rights.
The first workshop was held in September 2013 in Bahrain and focused on women economic rights while the second one was held in in Cairo in February 2014 on Arab women political rights.
Dr. Al-Faouri said the meeting discussed the preparation for organizing the fourth workshop on Arab women health and social rights from 19-20 April 2014, either in Egypt or Morocco, where the Arab Parliament President will patronize the workshop and representatives of, Arab League, Arab Women Organization, civil society organizations and regional organizations concerned with women rights and health and social issues will be invited to attend the workshop.
