The organic law on the creation of the Supreme Judicial Council (French: CSM) was declared "unconstitutional" by the provisional constitutional review authority on Monday.
A group of 28 MPs had submitted last May 22 an appeal of unconstitutionality against the draft law on the supreme judicial council.
The statement of objections of the constitutional review authority involves procedures of discussion of the draft law by the House of People's Representatives as well as several articles of the law (4,10, 11, 12, 17,42, 43, 60 and 81), said a summary of Monday's meeting of the authority.
On a total of 217 MPs, the law on the creation of the supreme judicial council received 131 votes while 8 MPs abstained and 4 voted against it.
More than 74 MPs were absent or refused to vote at the plenary of the HPR.
