The leader of the Democratic Party, the main party of the opposition in Albania, Lulzim Basha, declared on Wednesday that “the Democratic Party will not form a coalition for the sake of being in power, but it’s ready to fight a frontal war with crime and corruption”.

“The media wants news and I can understand that.  The essence of this issue is the state of the country and my worry is not Rama or Meta, but the citizen. The solution cannot come from the architects of criminalization and corruption. DP doesn’t form coalitions for the sake of being in power, but it’s ready to fight a frontal war with crime and corruption, with zero compromise”, Basha said commenting on a possible coalition with the Socialist Movement for Integration, the second largest party of the left wing in power, led by the parliamentary speaker, Ilir Meta.
