Three draft laws organising the next municipal elections will be submitted to the parliament before the end of 2015, Secretary of State in charge of Local Affairs Hédi Majdoub told TAP on Tuesday.
The three texts concern the organic bill related to the regional and municipal elections, the draft law related to the budget of the local communities and the draft law to local authorities code.
The bills, drafted by a group of experts independent from the administration, were examined late August by a cabinet meeting. The new organic laws related to the regional and municipal elections will be submitted to the political parties, the civil society and Higher Independent Authority for the Elections as well as the concerned Ministries for consultation, Majdoub said.
Several innovations will be introduced to the electoral law of the municipalities, including the horizontal and the vertical parities on the electoral lists and the principle of recovery of expenses of the electoral campaign after the publication of the elections results.
