BEIRUT: Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel discussed Tuesday with caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour different proposals for a new voting system, a statement from Charbel’s office said.
According to the statement, the two ministers addressed the possibility of modifying electoral proposals to reach a national consensus on a new electoral law.
Talks also addressed the general political situation in the country, the statement added.
Lebanese political rivals have yet to reach agreement over a new voting system for the parliamentary elections scheduled for June.
