“Kyrgyzstan has moved from street to parliamentary democracy”

“Kyrgyzstan has moved from street to parliamentary democracy”, Speaker of the Parliament Asylbek Zheenbekov said at a press conference today.

According to him, the journalists, covering the activities of Parliament, has repeatedly criticized the deputies, voters also voiced their complaints against the people’s deputes. "This is the evidence that Kyrgyzstan finally moves to a parliamentary democracy. During this session the deputies really endorsed many resonant laws, including denunciation of the agreement on the Transit Center at Manas. We have considered the conclusion of the parliamentary commissions on looters and early release of a thief in law Aziz Batukayev. And the last decision which caused discussions in the society was the removal of the Ombudsman Tursunbek Akun from his office," Asylbek Zheenbekov said.

He added that in general the Parliament has considered 355 draft laws and 146 of them have been signed by the President.
