The Congress member from Ghariyan, Mohamed Yunis Toumi, was attacked yesterday while visiting Libya Al-Watania TV station in Tripoli.

Toumi  told the Libya Herald that some security guards at station “used inappropriate words when speaking to me and, under the pretext of being thuwar, accused me and other members of the General National Congress of being thieves”.

Toumi says that after he reproached them for their accusations and the way they spoke to him, they beat him. They also beat up the TV manager, a photographer and two other TV employees up, he says.

“I am feeling well today,” Ettoumi stated this afternoon. He expressed the hope that  measures would be taken against the assailants.
