Stanko Primorac, a lawmaker from the Croatian Party of Rights, HSP, on January 16 asked parliamentarians to vote to dismiss Zivko Budimir, President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Primorac submitted the request for the House of Representatives to discuss the dismissal at their next session dedicated to choosing a speaker after Fehim Skaljic recently resigned.
Primorac said he based the demand on Budimir's "violation of the constitution and of the law and bringing the Federation into financial and political collapse”.
He referred to Budimir's actions on January 3, when he dismissed the Finance Minister Ante Krajina for not ensuring war veteran pensions were paid in several municipalities.
At the same time he said he was acting on a request by the Prime Minister Nermin Niksic from 2012, which he had then refused.
The entity's Constitutional Court recently returned Krajina to his post until a new minister can be appointed in order to assure payments continue flowing in the entity.
Although the HSP has only one MP, Primorac, he hopes he can win broad support for the sacking.
The HSP says the governing Social Democratic Party, SDP, has pledged to back the dismissal, as this party made a similar demand last summer. The HSP is also counting on support of the two main Croat parties in Bosnia, the Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, and HDZ 1990.
