The recently appointed Governor of the Hiran region by the Somali Federal Government Abdifatah Hassan Afrah, affirmed that his administration will prioritize clearing all towns and districts under the region from Al-Shabaab.
The Governor stated that Al-Shabaab changed their tactics to become bandits, to steal the possessions of civilians in Hiran.
Afrah added that his administration is in the process of preparing new, effective strategies designed to crush Al-Shabaab from Hiran. He verbally strained that they will do their best to recover and rehabilitate the youth that have been led astray by the terrorist insurgents.
