  • Observations: The Pole was formed as an electoral coalition by four political parties and several citiizen initiatives in 2011 in order to present a common front in the Constituent Assembly elections. Its chief component was the Ettajdid Movement, formerly Tunisia's historic Communist Party. In view of the need to link up with other political parties, it was decided in March 2012 to end the PDM. Most of its components then merged into a new political party, Al Massar (see separate entry for this party).
