Sharjah FNC elections committee holds meeting

Sharjah: The committee for the upcoming elections of the Federal National Council (FNC), held its first meeting on Saturday under the chairmanship of Mansour Bin Nassar, Head of the Legal Department at the Sharjah Ruler’s office.

The committee’s members discussed the proposed mechanism and plans for the FNC elections, including the electronic voting system and other technical requirements. The committee also reviewed regulations for candidates’ election campaigns and coordination with other authorities, such as municipalities of the emirate of Sharjah, to guarantee a smooth and efficient election process.

The committee discussed its responsibilities and priorities for the upcoming elections, in addition to providing all forms of technical and administrative support related to the elections process. It emphasised the importance of ensuring that the Sharjah Consultative Council building is prepared to act as the committee’s headquarters, and receive candidates and complete their applications and deal with their inquiries.

The committee members stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure the success of FNC elections, which will reflect the UAE’s modern experience and maturity in advancing political participation, which is a key part of the UAE’s march of national progress and comprehensive development.
