Prime Minister Hani Mulki said that the government is committed to holding transparent elections that reflect the political reform in the Kingdom, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II for years.

The government, he said, will offer all the needed support to the Independent Elections Commission, not only to play its role, but also to encourage citizens to take part in the elections.

In an interview with 60 Minutes TV program, Al Mulki said that the Decentralization Law was a progressive law, because citizens better know their priorities, when it comes to expenditures and projects.

Speaking on economy, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Kingdom's economic conditions are "not disastrous", while affirming the ability to find suitable solutions to address and reform the economy. He also stressed the need to cut public debt percentage to the gross domestic product (GDP) from 93 percent back to its normal cap.

The premier also spoke about the importance of the role played by citizens to convince donors that they would contribute to and sacrifice for the development of their country, noting that "we have to shoulder the burdens together".

Al Mulki said the western countries would not have given Jordan any grants or loan guarantees without the economic measures and decisions taken by the government. He also underlined the importance of rebuilding the middle class in the Jordanian community and protect the society from imbalances. In this regard, the prime minister stressed that the government will not increase the prices of bread, water and electricity.

on ties with the GCC states, the prime minister said that the bilateral relations between Jordan and these states are strong and evolving, thanks for the efforts exerted by King Abdullah and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
