All special courts to be scrapped before local elections, Turkish justice minister says
Specially authorized courts will be completely abolished before the Parliament’s recess on the eve of the March 30 local elections, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ announced Jan. 29.
The measure will also include the courts authorized by article 10 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, Bozdağ said.
“We will make a historic step that we should have taken a long time ago as a requirement of the rule of law,” Bozdağ told reporters in Ankara.
