Baidoa’s Selection Committee shut down registration

The new Selection Committee recently appointed at Hotel Bakiin of Baidoa, are currently reviewing the application for president of the 3 regions; Bay, Bakool & Lower Shabelle. The Selection Committee are expected to conclude the registration of the conference envoys today in Hotel Bakiin.

This committee started yesterday to write the names of the candidates for president of South-Western state of Somalia governing the 3 regions of Bay, Bakool & Lower Shabelle.

Le dirigeant de Nidaa Tounes, Mohsen Marzouk a déclaré sur les ondes de Mosaïque FM que son parti est attaché à l’Union Pour la Tunisie. 

Il a également salué la volonté de certains partis centristes et modernistes de rejoindre l’Union Pour la Tunisie en considérant que le Mouvement Destourien ne fait pas partie de ce système.

Le président de Nidaa Tounes, Beji Caid Essebsi, a déclaré lors du meeting populaire organisé par son parti à l’occasion de la fête mondiale de la femme que le "Front Destourien " n’existe pas, et que certains partis politiques s’activent pour le créer. 

Il a également appelé certains dirigeants politiques, voulant réussir ce projet à travailler avant de critiquer les autres partis.

Le parti Al Amen a déclaré lors d’une conférence de presse dimanche 9 mars 2014 qu’il  n’était pas logique que le gouvernement Jomaa  adopte de grands projets comme celui du gaz du sud, dénonçant ce qu’il a appelé un détournement de projet du gouvernorat de Tataouine au gouvernorat de Gabes.

Le président de l’instance politique du parti Républicain, Ahmed Nejib Chebbi  a annoncé lors d’une réunion populaire à l’Ariana que son parti comptait se présenter aux élections présidentielles et législatives prochaines. 
Il a appelé Les habitants de l’Ariana présents à la réunion à voter pour son parti parce qu’il avait un programme qui se tient et parce que c’est un parti loin du double discours. 
Ahmed Nejib Chebbi  a déclaré que la tournée qu’il avait effectué dans différents gouvernorats a démontré que la situation sociale en Tunisie était dégradée. 

 

Ettakatol ouvert à toute alliance sauf avec l'Union pour la Tunisie

Le dirigeant au sein d’Ettakatol, Khalil Zaouia a déclaré à Mosaique FM lors d’une réunion du bureau politique du parti à Sfax qu’Ettakatol est ouvert à une alliance avec les partis partageant la même idéologie sociale démocratique, à l’exception de l’Union pour la Tunisie qui selon Ettakatol œuvre pour le retour du RCD.

Sudan’s Bashir to begin meetings with political parties on Monday

 The leading figure at the Sudanese Communist Party (SCP), Sideeg Youssef, denied that his party received an official invitation from the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) to engage in dialogue.

He belied statements made by a senior official at Sudan’s Council of Ministers on Sunday in which he mentioned that the SCP is among those which will meet with president Omer Hassan Al-Bashir on Monday.

Afghan vice-president has died of natural causes, say officials

The Afghan vice-president Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, formerly one of the country's feared warlords, has died of natural causes. The Afghan government has declared three days of national mourning.

Fahim, a leader of the Tajik ethnic minority, served as senior vice-president to Hamid Karzai, who is due to step down as president at elections next month. Nato combat forces are also to pull out ofAfghanistan after 13 years of fighting the Taliban.

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Hamid Karzai on Saturday called on the nation, especially women, to actively participate in the landmark elections due on April 5 to prove the value of their vote.

Addressing a gathering marking International Women’s Day in Kabul, the president said: “You hear on the world’s media about the upcoming elections that it is uncertain what’s going to be happen --- good or bad elections. But I say there will be good elections and all people will exercise their right to vote.”

Survey finds many still unaware of April 9 election

With the April 9 legislative election rapidly approaching, a recently conducted survey has revealed that many people are still unaware of the election.

“As many as 48.23 percent of our respondents knew nothing about the schedule of the upcoming legislative election,” Cirus Surveyors Group research director Kadek Dwita Apriani said on Saturday.

KPK extends detention of Anas until election day

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has decided to extend the detention of former Democratic Party (PD) chairman and graft suspect Anas Urbaningrum until election day on April 9. 

Anas has been detained by the KPK since Jan. 10 this year, after being named as a suspect for his alleged involvement in the high-profile graft scandal surrounding the Hambalang sports complex project.

“Anas’ detention has been extended by 30 days,” KPK spokesperson Johan Budi said on Friday.

The Sudanese Communist Party (SCP) has announced its readiness to engage in dialogue with the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) provided the government ends civil wars and creates an environment conducive for dialogue.

The SCP leading figure, Sideeg Youssef, said in a talk show broadcasted by the state-run Radio Omdurman on Friday that the lack of freedom of expression and opinion is the major obstacle to his party’s acceptance of the NCP call for dialogue.
