The Minister of Interior of the Somali Federal government, Mr Abdullahi Godax Barre spoke to Radio VOA and warned of the disruptions and problems in Baidoa.

The Minister’s speech came yesterday there was a conference in Baidoa (among a series of other gatherings) where Madoobe Nuunow Mohamed was elected to serve as president of the  new South-Western 6 region state.

After the negotiations with the Chairman of the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission Korea is ready to supply equipment for improvement of the electoral process. The Central Election Commission (CEC) informed 24.kg news agency.

La présidente de la commission de législation générale, Kalthoum Badreddine a appelé les présidents des blocs à se réunir avec les députés afin qu’ils se mettent d’accord sur les points de discorde dans le projet de loi électorale, après la clôture  de la discussion du chapitre des crimes électoraux en vue d’accélérer l’adoption de la loi électorale avant fin mars.

In line with the constitution and the regulations of the state, The Ministry of Interior and Federalism is mandated to federalize country through inclusive and transparent process led by the Federal government of Somalia.

The FGS express deep concern over the two parallel conferences in Baidoa and urges its fellow citizens in Baidoa to avoid unnecessary conflict that may dislocate our efforts to rebuild this country.

Today in Baidoa there is a conference with participation from female civil society groups, intellectuals, politicians and other members of the community in Bay, Bakool & Lower Shabelle.

This conference is supporting the Federal government’s decision to comply with the mass meetings going in Baidoa.

Different members and MP’s have said that they are supporting the government’s decision to allow the meetings in Baidoa.

Presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani-Ahmadzai said on Sunday that if he wins the presidency, his administration will involve people in the country’s major decisions, and not allow a small circle make key political and economic choices.

“A silent majority is currently in Afghanistan and small circles make the major decisions,” Ghani-Ahmadzai said. We will work to involve all the people in decision making.”

The Stanekzai Tribe Council announced its support for Ghani-Ahmadzai on Sunday.
