Hassan Rohani, director of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council, announced on Thursday that he will run in the presidential election set for June 14.
Rohani said that if he wins the vote, he will introduce a plan to “save” the national economy, revive morality, and establish constructive interaction with the world.
Iran’s former nuclear negotiator also said that he will form a “government of wisdom and hope” if he is elected president.
Rohani who chaired the Supreme National Security Council for long years also said he plans to draw up a blueprint on “civil rights” if he wins the polls.
Dynamic culture, pragmatic politics, and flourishing economy are three key elements in managing the country, he stated.
He said a thriving government is the one that uses all competent people.
Rohani also called on next president to be aware that the power would be handed to him as a “trust”, and that he should not have any sense of ownership over it.
