Parkouring out of Cabinet

The acquittal verdict of the second instance court aroused in tricephalous opposition as euphoric joy of liberation, so the cowardice ( Neither Kamchybek Tashiyev nor Sadyr Zhaparov have ever appeared at the Supreme Court’s sessions).

The verdict of the Supreme Court is final and not subject to revision. This means that the three members of the parliamentary minority will be withdrawn their mandates.

If everything goes as it should under the law, Kyrgyzstan could record this fact with the "first time" remark. What the party representatives, calling themselves an opposition, might undertake? Most likely they will apply the well-tested method - public unrest and blocking of strategic roads. The three convicts are keeping silence so far. But the head of the Central Election Commission immediately responded to the question of 24.kg news agency about further development - or rather, the end - of the protracted show with jumping over the fence of the White House.

"Three MPs who were found by the Supreme Court guilty of trying to overthrow the government, will be deprived of mandates," Tuygunaaly Abdraimov said.

The defence of Ata-Zhurt members, of course, believes the verdict of the Supreme Court is politically motivated. According to the attorney of Kamchybek Tashiyev Ikramidin Aitkulov, the sentence is "manifestly illegal, delivered with a plenty of grave violations of the Criminal Procedure Code."

Joy that will leave its trace

The authorities of the country have a reason to raise a glass of champagne now. Beheaded opponents, who so long disturbed the calm rhythm of the state pastime of senior officials, are now deprived of their status. But the joy is likely to be premature. The home land of Kamchybek Tashiyev clearly demonstrated the official Bishkek that it is ready to spit at the Constitution and other laws, including the universal norms of behavior.

If there is someone who believes Kamchybek Tashiyev, his numerous relatives and countrymen will not hold rallies? Not in the capital but in the region. And there are reasons, do not doubt it.

At the time Issyk-Kul residents are anxiously awaiting the fall being annoyed at local officials and police inability to put things in order. They fear that the unemployed politicians will once again begin exacerbating Kumtor’s issue thus giving no rest to the local residents.

Test of fall

Political analyst Bakyt Baketayev believes the whole country has a little chance of peace.

“Every fall in Kyrgyzstan is politically hot. The deputies return from the districts in which they have heard a plenty of popular discontent about lack of basic social conditions and unresolved problems in the economy as well as thriving unemployment. Traditionally, all these speeches in the Parliament end in a proposal to dismiss the government. And the upcoming session of Parliament will not be an exception. On one hand, it's not bad at all: the government is in good shape. But the executive branch needs to show results, not promises and policies," the expert said.

“As for the accused deputies, being familiar with Kamchybek Tashiyev and Sadyr Zhaparov we can predict their next protest actions. Obviously, they will once again appeal to the people and exacerbate the Kumtor issue. This issue can remain fertile during a sufficient period of time. The time the authorities do not have. All the current and the most sensitive issues of the economy, social sphere, regional problems need to be solved immediately. It is also necessary to stop the vicious practice of voicing the exaggerated indexes of "development." The Economy Minister Temir Sariyev has to give it up and voice the real rates, including, for example, the fact that the long-suffering Kumtor provides for 7 percent of country’s GDP," Bakyt Baketayev said.

Silence did not last too long

The silence after the guilty verdict of the Supreme Court was broken by Ata-Zhurt leader Sadyr Zhaparov. Answering the questions of 24.kg news agency , former MP stated that “one can seek justice even without deputy’s mandate.”

He also said the verdict of the Supreme Court “was ordered.” Sadyr Zhaparov is sure that "the judicial board of the Supreme Court acted according to the orders of the White House.”

"In order Kumtor to be handed over to the people, we do not need seats in the Parliament. We will achieve this through rallies," Sadyr Zhaparov informed and promised to hold the first protest in September. He also said that he is "not afraid of arrest and is prepared for new trips of power."

Zhaparov is sure that “people will support the opposition and will go out for rallies with it."

Sadyr Zhaparov also told that the opposition will demand the resignation of the Cabinet of Zhantoro Satybaldiyev. According to him, the opposition "is going to create a national trust government."

Three years later

The Triumph of the pronounced nationalist party at the parliamentary elections of 2010 turned into a complete rejection of the electorate in the fall of 2012. Each further act of the opposition after jumping over a fence is taken by the population with growing irritation.

It is still too early for authorities to drink champagne. They need, as experts advise, to move from promises to real actions in the economy but not in politics. Because not the retirees but the coming fall and winter will demand the report. In the meantime, officials continue to demonstrate complete inability to control major sectors of the economy. The experiment on the survival of the Kyrgyzstanis continues ...
