KUALA LUMPUR: It was a crazy idea to name Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the seventh Prime Minister if the Opposition wins the next general election.

Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM) founder Badrul Hisham Shaharin, fondly known as Chegubard, said the Opposition had been fighting so hard to bring down then Prime Minister Tun Mahathir.

“It is insane for the Opposition to appoint a dictator like Tun Mahathir to become the next Prime Minister,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Badrul said PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was far more qualified than Mahathir to be the next Prime Minister should Pakatan Harapan (PH) win the next general election.

“PKR has more parliamentary seats than Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM). PKR has 29 parliamentary seats while PPBM only has one seat.

“The report quoting Tun Mahathir as saying that he intends to be the Prime Minister again is not only funny but also showed that he is greedy,” he said.

He said the President of PKR, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has a track record of integrity and the political experience she had accumulated over the years, makes her the most suitable candidate as the Finance Minister if PH wins the next general election.

“There are many talents in the Opposition who are able to handle the various portfolios in the Cabinet.Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu can be sworn in as Education Minister.

“Tun Mahathir has not even contested, but he is already dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister.

Has Tun Mahathir announced which constituency he would be contesting in?” he questioned.
