We did elect the first woman head of state among Muslim countries. On the whole, however, the situation is still quite grim.

HYDERABAD: The local chapters of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Dadu district have joined hands to contest the local government elections against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have announced their alliance on more than 80 per cent of the city’s seats for the third round of the local bodies’ polls.
“Karachi has been held hostage by political forces for years, which have never contributed towards the development of the city, but this time, the popularity of PTI and the strength of JI will win the local bodies poll,” said JI’s Karachi ameer, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday.
