Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroek, on Wednesday, handed the mission’s final report to President of the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) Chafik Sarsar.
The document will be presented next Friday at a press conference in Tunis.
Speaking to reporters, Neyts-Uyttebroek said the report covers the whole electoral process (legislative and presidential elections) and contains recommendations.
She commended the success of the elections in Tunisia, stressing the role played by ISIE and its regional sections in this regard.
The president of the election authority emphasised the importance of the recommendations contained in the report and that will be taken into account to develop the electoral operation.
ISIE will, in turn, present its final report on Thursday.
