The leader of the Democratic Party in Albania, Lulzim Basha accused today the two governing allies of running people with criminal records for the June 21 local government elections.

During the meeting of the democrat parliamentary group, Basha said that decriminalization is a decisive moment. Basha said that PM Edi Rama is not able to separate himself from people with criminal records and not defend them when they appear in front of the prosecution and police.

“For us, Edi Rama and Ilir Meta are coauthors of criminalization. Criminalization which has become a system now, is their only deed. The selection of candidates and councilors for the local elections is unveiling who is linked to crime. In Kruja, Rama is running Artur Bushi, arrested in 2010 for drug trafficking in Holland”, said Basha.

Basha said that Rama has no problems whatsoever in promoting drug traffickers. According to him, “the promotion of people with criminal records is the biggest insult, but above all for left wing voters who do not deserve to be represented by drug traffickers and murderers”.
