The Democratic Party has sent today to the Constitutional Court what it has considered as ‘the decision of the majority to defend Kokedhima MP from the violations of the Constitution’.
According to the DP, the decision of the majority to defend the socialist MP, who according to this party, has violated the Constitution, is an unprecedented case in these 24 years of parliamentary life and democracy.
“If parliament becomes a shield for MPs who violate the Constitution and the law, then the highest body of the representation of the people, turns into the highest body which protects the interests of Koco Kokedhima and his businesses. This is the end of democracy and constitutionality in the country”, reads the DP’s press statement.
According to the largest opposition party in the country, it was the duty of parliament to respect the Constitution and identify the violations committed by Koco Kokedhima MP.
This party expresses its conviction that “the Constitutional Court will examine this case by being unbiased and based on the incontestable facts and arguments of this violation of the Constitution by Koco Kokedhima and his personal protector, PM Rama
