L’agence de presse Visactu, a publié ce vendredi sur sa page Facebook, un post pour démentir les résultats de soi-disant sondages effectués par ses services, en rapport avec les intentions de votes pour les prochaines élections. Résultats qui mettent Nabil Karoui en première place pour les présidentielles et le parti islamiste Ennahdha, en pôle position, pour les législatives.

Israeli army injure several Palestinians at Gaza border in the weekly Great March of Return

At least seven Palestinians were injured by live bullets today, including a child, when Israeli forces attacked hundreds of protesters taking part in the weekly Great March of Return at the east border of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
 
Stationed at borderline watchtowers and in armored military vehicles, Israeli soldiers fired live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds at the protesters who gathered at many locations along the border, injuring seven of them.
 

Damascus rejects Arab Summit’s criticism of Iran’s presence in Syria

The government in Damascus has rejected the final statement of the Arab emergency summit held in Saudi Arabia, which criticizes what it called “Iranian intervention” into Syrian affairs, AP reports.
 
Damascus said the statement was an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Syria.

A group of Syrian civil society organizations came together in Istanbul yesterday, calling on the international community to take action to stop regime attacks in the northwestern province of Idlib. A joint press conference called "Imminent Humanitarian Disaster in NW Syria: Act for Idlib" was held yesterday by representatives of the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets), the Syrian NGO Alliance (SNA) and the Idlib Health Directorate in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul.

18% of Syrians Married Before 19 in Lebanon

A recent study of early marriage among Syrian refugees in south Lebanon has found that around 18 percent of women in those communities are married by the age of 19.
 
In the sample of 1,625 adolescent girls and 893 adult women surveyed, about 14 percent were married before the age of 18, researchers found.
 
While the majority of those had married at the age of 16 or above, researchers spoke to some girls who had married as young as 11, and one girl who had been married, divorced and remarried by the age of 15.

Presidential candidate and Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto left Indonesia on Tuesday morning for a trip to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and Vienna, amid speculation that his party was linked to the May 22 riot.
 
Gerindra executive Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed that Prabowo had flown to Dubai with several friends on a private jet for a medical checkup.
 
“He is there for a routine medical checkup, something that he regularly does. He will also meet several business colleagues there,” Riza said.

A possible US-backed thaw in Qatari-Saudi relations has been signalled by Qatari diplomats travelling to Saudi Arabia to lay the ground for their country’s attendance at a major summit in Mecca on alleged Iranian aggression in the region.
 
Qatar’s attendance will be seen as the biggest rapprochement between the two countries since the Saudis launched a sweeping economic and political blockade against the gas-rich country two years ago, accusing Doha of trying to undermine Saudi Arabia, fund terrorism and promote the Muslim Brotherhood across the Middle East.

The United Nations confirmed that a Saudi-led airstrike on Friday killed 12 civilians, including seven children, in the southern city of Taiz. The U.N. said that at least 27 children in Yemen have been killed or injured over a period of 10 days. Friday’s attack came as Trump announced he was declaring a national emergency to push through $7 billion worth of U.S. weapons sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The declaration allows Trump to circumvent Congress, which has used the War Powers Resolution to oppose military support for the war in Yemen.

Turkey Says Nearly 330,000 Syrians Returned Home

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said 329,000 Syrians have returned from Turkey since the end of the operations carried out by Turkey and pro-Syrian factions, including the Free Syrian Army, Turkey’s interior minister said Sunday.
 
Soylu said those Syrians returned to their homeland thanks to the peace reached in Afrin, Azaz, Jarablus, and al-Bab where the Olive Branch and Euphrates Shield operations were carried out.
 

Civilian Toll Mounts as Syria Regime Pounds Militant Bastion

Another wave of regime air strikes on Tuesday struck a militant bastion in northwest Syria where more than 40 civilians have been killed in several days of heavy bombardment, a war monitor said.
 
Four children were among 10 people killed on Tuesday in government fire on several towns in Idlib province and neighboring Aleppo countryside, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
 
A hospital in the Idlib town of Kafranbel was hit by artillery shells, said David Swanson, a spokesman for the UN humanitarian office.
 

Sudan protesters begin two-day strike to pressure military

Protesters in Sudan started a two-day general strike on Tuesday to pile pressure on the ruling army to hand over power to a civilian government.

The strike left hundreds of airline passengers stranded at Khartoum airport on Tuesday morning after opposition group Alliance for Freedom and Change requested Sudanese pilots to participate.
