Ballots are to be mailed out to embassies on Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Egyptian expats will be able to print their ballot papers for the run-off of the second stage of the country's new House of Representatives’ elections on Thursday and Friday, with ballots to be mailed out to embassies on the following three days.
The run-off of the second stage, which includes constituencies of 13 out of 27 Egyptian governorates, will be limited to candidates running under the individual system who will compete for the 101 remaining undecided seats.
Up to 42 individual seats were secured during the first round. Also, the 142 seats reserved for candidates running under the party list system were swept in majority by the electoral list led by pro-government Mostaqbal Watan (The Future of Nation) during the first round.
The governorates included in the stage are Cairo, Qalyubiya, Dakahliya, Meoufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.
A domestic vote for the second stage’s run-off will be held on 7-8 December, with the final results to be announced on 14 December.
On Monday, the Egyptian National Elections Authority (NEA) announced the results of the run-off of the parliamentary elections' first stage held earlier this month.
